Translation notes:
I know some of you will be a little shocked at the language used by Hana in this chapter so I thought I would take a moment to explain it.
I tried to go for a fitting word for the scene but one that would shock people if Hana said it no matter what country they were in. Since another way to say vagina in Japanese is "manko" which when the "n" is removed can be used as "fuck" or "f**k" I thought it would be best to use that.
Most swear words in japan are just normal words that appear somewhat meaningless in english when just translated straight off. They have a considerable lack of colloquial language compared to us, so I made it a little easier for you all to understand Kyo's shock.
Comparing mine to Shadow's chosen word I guess most American fans will be a little shocked at my choice. For those that don't know words like damn, hell, bloody hell etc. aren't swear words in the UK so seemed a little tame to me to get such a reaction from Kyo. (It should be interesting to see what other translators have used and where they're from.)

Am I the only one who is a little bit pissed by the attitude of Hana and UO? I think there is no good going on putting those kind of scenes of "farce" on Kyo by Hana and Uo...
and more was it needed a consent by Hana and Uo for the couple Kyo-Tohru to be?!
I do not like very much the way Takaya has done this chapter: the things really important are few, do not you think?

I quite like how Uo and Hana give him their blessings. She doesn't have any parents and throughout the series its seemed like they've adopted her. They treat her like a friend but they also look out for her like parents would. That's how I see it anyway, them giving him their blessings is like they're finally giving her up to someone else.
I expected this chapter to arrive for some time now. Its been a while since we had a filler with everything that's going on.

I agree about Uo and Hana. They both have supported and protected Tohru throughout the manga both emotionally and physically.I wish Hana gets a happy ending, because both her friends sort of did and I don't want her to be alone once again.

Yeah I've only glanced over it too. I got that from another girl that does summaries of it, but it sounded doubtful. Her translations really aren't that good though so she's probably read it wrong. All I've read about Yuki so far is that he's decided he wants to moves away.

Last I heard from funimation abt fruits basket was at Otakon, where at the funigirls panel they stated that as of yet they had not decided which production company to send the paper cranes to, I think they said that it wouldn't be until sometime next year that they would send them out. Other then that they got 8000 paper cranes made, which they had just recently finished packing for shipment. The problem is that funimation wants to send the cranes to a production company who would be willing to pick up a second season of Fruits Basket. So the whole second season thingis as of now still up in the air. I will see if I can email funigirls and find out an update for you guys.

As for info on Takaya's side she's still said nothing since her interviews where she said she doesn't want anymore work done on the anime. I'm always on the lookout for stuff concerning it though. ^^
Now decided I definitely want to go to the university I'm applying to. I went to the open day today (as I said in my other comments) and loved it. They have so much stuff there for the course, the people are really nice and we can start an anime club.

Yeah pretty much. That's how I understood it at least.
I tried to go for a fitting word but one that would shock people if Hana said it. Since another way to say vagina in Japanese is "manko" which when the "n" is removed can be used as "fuck" I thought it would be best to use that.
Most swear words in japan are just normal words that appear somewhat meaningless in english when just translated straight off. They have a considerable lack of colloquial language compared to us.
Comparing mine to Shadow's chosen word I guess most American fans will be a little shocked at my choice. For those that don't know words like damn, hell, bloody hell etc. aren't swear words in the UK so seemed a little tame to me to get such a reaction from Kyo.
